In the chaos after the plane crash in NYC yesterday one bold figure stepped up. Alec Baldwin tried to talk his way past the perimeter set up by the New York Police Department. Our first reaction was what the hell, who does he think he is?
However, upon further reflection (while on the throne) it makes perfect sense.
Alec Baldwin is an expert in disaster management. How else could one explain his career? How else could he still be relevant? Alec has survived disasters such as his marriage, his “I’ll move to France” comment, his “Stone him and his children to death” comment and as a host of the weekly calamity known as Saturday Night Live.
Further evidence of his ability to handle tragedy can be seen in his survival after being on Will and Grace long after it stopped being “funny” and he is currently heavily involved in something called 30 Rock, and who can forget him in Pluto Nash?
Yes, Alec Baldwin should have been allowed through the police barricade, he should have been able to go to the crash site and pick through the derbies and have the responders make way for him. He would not have been in the way, he would have been able to tell them how to do their jobs.
Alec Baldwin to the Rescue!

If I was president, this wouldn't have happened
"If I was president, this wouldn't have happened," said Kerry during a noon stop at Honest John's bar and grill in Detroit's Cass Corridor.
No, really, he said it. Kerry thinks that the current Israel Hezbola war would not have happened.
John, SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP.

Screech is A Bum
Personal Responsibility
So it has come to this, how pathetic is it that Dustin “Screech” Diamond is forced to beg for money, via t-shirt sales to save his house. The one time former Saved by the Bell co-star is facing the loss of his house.
After the show ended I decided to leave Sunny Cailfornia [sic] for the midwest. My shitty credit meant that getting a loan for a house would be tough. I began looking and finally purchsed [sic] one on a land contract.According to Real Estate ABCs, Land contracts vary widely from transaction to transaction.
In most cases, no grant deed is recorded. The buyer rarely obtains a new mortgage loan at the time of purchase. Instead, the new owner makes payments to an intermediary, who then makes payments on the seller’s mortgage, which is still in place. …Within a certain number of years, it is expected the buyer will be able to qualify for a loan.[emphasis added] At that time, they will obtain a new mortgage and pay off whatever amount the land contract requires.
So Screech pissed away the money he received for his nine million year run on saved by the bell and his appearance on Celebrity Boxing. He earned his bad credit the same way most of us have, over extending, bad investments and simply no planning. Now he wishes us to believe that all of a sudden he is required to pay the loan off and doesn’t have time to get a real mortgage, yet at the same time we are to believe that the value of the land went up overnight.
Diamond needs to grow up and face up to his personal responsibility. He needs stop pretending he is a comic and riding on the coat tails of a show that ended years ago and get a job and work to rebuild his credit like the rest of have had to do. While we admire his ingenuity, he should not rely on others to solve his problems.

Natalie Maines Does it Again
It seems that there is a band out there that some people have heard of that made some comment that some fans took as an insult. The band then got upset and decried their right to free speech had been violated because said fans decided that they could not continue to support a group that did not reflect their own core values.
Flash forward a few years and this group is on tour again and apparently still bitter about their loss of stature in the entertainment industry. But in a valiant effort to get back to the top they are trying to re-endure themselves to their core constituents, country music fans, that is right, red state, meat eating gun owning, beer swilling country music fans, not New York upper west side wine sipping pseudo-intellectual America hating French loving want-a-be hippies, the group consented to an interview where the lead singer someone named Natalie Maines said the following:
"The entire country may disagree with me, but I don't understand the necessityAnd Miss Maines, I don’t see why people care about you. If you can not understand people pride in their country, if you can not understand that people are proud to be Americans then you really should not insult them.
for patriotism," Maines resumes, through gritted teeth. "Why do you have to be a
patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and
like your life, but as for loving the whole country… I don't see why people care
about patriotism."
The entire country does not disagree with you Miss Maines. There are plenty of people out there who for one reason or another do not love America and do not feel a sense of patriotism. That is fine. They, like you, have a right to say what you want to, just as your former fans have a right to express their feelings. A word of business advise though if you want to grow your core market, you really should not alienate it. If they like NASCAR, Apple pie, Baseball and the USA, you really should not piss them off and then get upset that they do not buy your CDs and go to your concerts.
No one is censoring you, you are free to keep saying anything you like, but know this Miss Maines; Actions have consequences.
