The Democrats officially surrendered to terrorists today.

Ignoring a White House veto threat, lawmakers voted 218-212, mostly along party lines, for a war spending bill requiring that combat
operations cease before September 2008, or earlier if the Iraqi government does not meet certain requirements. Democrats
said it was time to heed the mandate of their election sweep last November,
which gave them control of Congress.

What the hell? Who thinks running away is the right message to send?

Is Iraq the Next Viet Nam?

“Another option calls for redeploying American troops from "vulnerable positions" in Baghdad and other cities to safer areas in Iraq or Kuwait, where they would act as a "quick reaction force." That idea is similar to a plan suggested by Representative John P. Murtha, a Pennsylvania Democrat, a plan that the White House has soundly rebuffed.”

I seem to recall some other war where the Democrats in charge wanted to use a strategy of billeting troops in safe secure rear areas and only commit them to fighting when patrols stumbled across them. The troops would win the battle by pouring in overwhelming numbers of soldiers and air support. Once the battle was over the troops would pack up and go back to their base. The enemy would come back after they left and terrorize the local population. I don’t think this was a winning strategy.

It seems the Liberals and Democrats really do want Iraq to be just like Viet Nam.

Yes, Another Clinton’s Blow UP Post, But With a Twist

There is a lot of talk out there about how this meltdown of Big Bad Bill was all a staged event intended to light a fire under the left, to get the base fired up for the elections. I tend to dismiss this kind of conspiracy theory political over-thinking, just as I dismissed the “Bush lowered gas prices to gain in the polls” theory. That said, it is interesting timing that Clinton blows up on such an innocuous question. At a time so close to the election and when the media has been unrelentingly hammering home the story that Iraq is just a failure, never minding the good news out of Iraq.

Has political dogma become so important that what is good for the country is not as important as winning elections? The left, in order to win has signed on part and parcel to the need for America to be defeated by terrorists. Cut it anyway you like, If you are for the war or against it, if run now we will only embolden them

Look at the recent celebrations in Lebanon. Hezbollah had its ass handed to them in the conflict. They were not able to control one aspect of the battle except for random violence against civilian targets, but yet after they lost all territory that Israel wished to occupy, they held a victory rally. When you give any concession to terrorists, who are masters at propaganda and know how to play the western media better than Eddie Van Halen can a guitar, they will claim a victory, they will spin it and they will come out stronger and more importantly, they will rightfully believe that they can win.

Blind loyalty and complete allegiance to the leftist, non-religious, religious dogma and unquestioning conservative patriotism will be the ruin of this country.

America has always overcome adversity because we stood together against external threats. I no longer believe that is possible as our political nobility has such a complete lock on the system and the total contempt that the left has for the right.

Marine Sues Murtha

In what has to be a first, an active duty marine is suing a sitting member of congress for defamation of character. Murtha made comments about the incident of the floor, reading in to congressional record that the questionable deaths of 24 civilians were indicative of the difficulties and overpowering stress that U.S. troops are facing.

This did not sit well with Staff Sergeant Frank D. Wuterich, who is a member of that unit.

“Attorneys for Frank D. Wuterich, 26, argue in court papers that Murtha tarnished the Marine's reputation by telling news organizations in May that the Marine unit cracked after a roadside bomb killed one of its members and that the troops "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." Murtha also said repeatedly that the incident was covered up.”

Wuterich and the other members of his squad have not been charged and have not received any official investigative documentation about the Nov. 19 incident., but yet Murth saw fit to try and convict them and make that conviction part of the official record of the congress of the United States.

I’m glad one Jar-head is fighting back against this ex-marine.
