A study which appeared in The Lancet, the medical journal, claimed 650,000 people were killed as a result of the invasion of Iraq was partly funded by the antiwar liberal billionaire George Soros who provided almost half of the $100,000 price tag. Its claim was 10 times higher than consensus estimates of the number of war dead. Published in 2006, the study was hailed by antiwar campaigners as evidence of the scale of the disaster caused by the invasion. The New England Journal of Medicine in its own review of the data estimates that 151,000 people, less than a quarter of The Lancet estimate, have died since the invasion in 2003. While the researchers and The Lancet didn't violate any laws or rules, many feel that had the source of the funding of the study been known, many who touted its results may have had second thoughts. Now that the real evidence has been made public and the War is no long the winning issue the Democrats thought it was, it is unlikely that there will be many retractions or indeed even coverage of the story. We will continue to hear that over 650,000 people died at the hands of Bush and his illegal war regardless of the facts. After all, a lie repeated oft enough becomes fact.

Fred in SC, On Fire Or a Flare Up?
I'm a Fred guy. I'll vote for him in the Primary here in Texas. I'll vote for him if he makes it to the show. I was please with both his performance on Hannity's radio show yesterday and at the debate. He was outspoken yet polite. I liked that you could actually see and hear the passion in him. My only concern is that it is not going to last. Fred needs to go out hit the streets and keep at it. I don't know if he can. The criticism that he is lazy has taken hold, he has to fight it. I think some of that is from the MSM as I believe they think he is a real conservative and that he could lead. If he would stay on message and no slow down, he could be the real come back (geriatric) kid. I hope his performance is the start of him really campaigning and not his swan song.
Kerry to Back Obama
John Kerry, who incidentally was a Viet Nam War Hero* has come out for Obama. The media is claiming that he snubbed Lady Hill and his former running mate, Edwards. If I were either one of them I'd not consider it a snub, but a blessing. His backing would be more of a curse than benefit and they get the added free press of being talked about like I'm doing here. John Kerry screws up yet again. *According to him.

Tomorrow is a referendum on the direction of our country. I will not be standing in line to spin the dial and click next to any candidate’s name.

Still Searching for a REAL Legacy
Jimmy “I’m still relevant” Carter has come out blaming the current crisis on the Korean peninsula on President Bush. Ignoring the fact that North Korea made a sweetheart deal with Carter and then promptly ignore it altogether, Carter says that war was more imminent in 1994 when he went over there and arm-wrestled Kim Il Jong into submission. Yes if it were not for Peanut Power, war would have broken out!
Carter says that now, war is not as likely because he solved the crisis 12 years ago, but IF there is a war now, it’s cause of President Bush un doing all of the hard work that a simple humble Peanut Farmer accomplished.

October Surprise
Wow, just when you think politics can’t get any worse. We find out that the Folly/Underage scandal is well…not an underage issue, but the page in question is the same age as Lewinski was and that the e-mails were passes on by the FBI. Folly should have been forced to quit, no doubt about that.
The left SHOUTING out about Haster should be fired because he knew about the e-mails and didn’t do anything is another blatant example of the Media Bias to the left. Was it not “just sex” with Clinton? Wasn’t it the left that told us that what goes on in the bedroom stays in the bedroom?
The Left KNEW about this scandal and sat on it until it was within 30 days of the election. How is that less offensive than the speaker not moving on it? If there is really indignation over this, shouldn’t they have acted on it when they learned of it? Why did they sit on it?
Even the “blog” the broke the story seems to have been set up for one purpose, Torpedoing Foley. Again, Foley should go, there should be no letting it go away quietly, The stage with cut and paste posts then nothing for months, then all of a sudden there were posts the “e-mails” forwarded to the blogger that look much more like fax copies than printouts of e-mails. Even Wonkette had dismissed them as fakes. No that the story has broke, the blogger declines interviews and even deleted his comments so there is no interaction, no way to verify any of his claims. If he was really posting to protect “The Children” why is he all of a sudden no longer interested in fighting the good fight?
Something is rotten here, besides Foley, something stinks and it is further proof that politics is the biggest threat to America than anything else. As a wise man said; “A House Divided…”
Yes, Another Clinton’s Blow UP Post, But With a Twist
There is a lot of talk out there about how this meltdown of Big Bad Bill was all a staged event intended to light a fire under the left, to get the base fired up for the elections. I tend to dismiss this kind of conspiracy theory political over-thinking, just as I dismissed the “Bush lowered gas prices to gain in the polls” theory. That said, it is interesting timing that Clinton blows up on such an innocuous question. At a time so close to the election and when the media has been unrelentingly hammering home the story that Iraq is just a failure, never minding the good news out of Iraq.
Has political dogma become so important that what is good for the country is not as important as winning elections? The left, in order to win has signed on part and parcel to the need for America to be defeated by terrorists. Cut it anyway you like, If you are for the war or against it, if run now we will only embolden them
Look at the recent celebrations in Lebanon. Hezbollah had its ass handed to them in the conflict. They were not able to control one aspect of the battle except for random violence against civilian targets, but yet after they lost all territory that Israel wished to occupy, they held a victory rally. When you give any concession to terrorists, who are masters at propaganda and know how to play the western media better than Eddie Van Halen can a guitar, they will claim a victory, they will spin it and they will come out stronger and more importantly, they will rightfully believe that they can win.
Blind loyalty and complete allegiance to the leftist, non-religious, religious dogma and unquestioning conservative patriotism will be the ruin of this country.
