Vultures Row: Out on a Limb

Out on a Limb

As we watch the coverage, read the stories and listen to the radio reports, we have com to a conclusion.

We are officially stating for the record that the death toll will be no where near the ten thousand (10,000) plus number offered by Mayor Nagin and others last week.

In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 the claims of tens of thousands flooded the media. The actual toll from all sights was less than four thousand.

We think the media is a little too quick to put up the numbers as soon as some one states them. They are so eager to get their morbid score car in front of the camera that they fail to look at the facts.

No one knew how many people stayed behind, it is impossible to guess at the numbers of dead until a door to door search is conducted, as is being done now.

So far the death toll in Mississippi is much worse than in Louisiana. We hope it goes no higher than it already has, be we know it will.
